一、 考研英语英译汉的考试内容与命题特点 1.英译汉的考试内容 /{"jLEyGt'u hg [ 本 资 料 来 源 于 贵 州 学 习 网 考研一方考研英语 http://Www.gzU521.com ] /{"jLEyGt'u hg 2005年全国硕士研究生入学考试英语试题作出了调整，笔试中取消了听力部分，“英译汉”成为试题的第三部分“阅读理解”中的c节。 本节共五小题，每小题2分，共计10分。它要求考生阅读一篇400词左右的文章，并将其中五个划线部分的句子翻译成汉语，要求汉语译文准确、完整、通顺。英译汉属于主观题，要求考生将答案写在答题纸2 上。 英译汉作为阅读理解的一部分，主要是考查考生准确理解概念或结构比较复杂的英语材料的能力。要做好英译汉，考生既要有较强的理解能力，又要掌握英译汉的基本技能。 在翻译过程中，考生必须全面理解文章内容，并且遵循翻译的基本原则，根据对文章的理解，灵活处理一般性翻译技巧和具体句型翻译的关系、概念的直译与意译之间的关系等。 2.英译汉的命题特点 1) 英译汉试题的选材英译汉试题所选用文章的体裁以议论文和说明文为主，多是从报刊、杂志和书籍中摘录的片段。但涉及到的内容和意思有相对的独立性，且比较抽象。在近年的英译汉试题所选文章中，这一点非常明显。另外，2005年还出现了一个特殊情况，即北京、安徽等省市考试时临时更换了翻译题，本书也将对更换的题目一并做出分析。下面我们来看一下近几年英译汉试题的题材范围：
从上面的内容可以看出，英译汉试题多选自科普性、常识性的文章。这是由于研究生入学英语考试是公共课考试，需兼顾人文和理工各科考生。文章的语言规范，逻辑严谨，句型结构工整。由于材料内容常常与当年的热点话题和人们普遍关心的问题有关，因此，阅读中英文报纸、杂志和期刊会对考生有所帮助。 2) 英译汉试题的句型结构 英译汉试题的句子通常比较长，且结构复杂，包含多个从句。比如1999年英译汉试题的第71题： while there are almost as many definitions of history as there are historians,‖modern practice most closely conforms to one that sees history as the attempt to recreate and explain the significant events of the past. 这个句子总共有36个单词。其结构包括： while引导的主从复合句；主句中that引导的定语从句；从句中as...as的结构。因此整个句子非常复杂，对翻译造成了许多困难。 英译汉试题的一个常考点是省略句。省略现象是一个值得考生充分注意的考点，它要求考生对句子、段落、甚至文章的整体进行理解，然后才能明白省略部分的意思。比如2002年英译汉试题的第65题： until these issues are resolved, a technology of behavior will continue to be rejected, and with it possibly the only way to solve our problems. 本句的后半部分是一个省略句，补全了应该是and with it possibly the only way to solve our problems will continue to be rejected。由于省略部分（黑体）与上一句的后半部分完全一样，它在第二句中被省略了。在阅读此句时，考生必须看到第二句与前一句是用and连接的并列关系，同时，还必须看到它缺少谓语。这样考生才能推断出它的谓语与前一句完全一样，并且被省略了。 1.认识误区 英译汉的评分标准是每个句子微观评分，综合扣分，各句的要点是给分的重点。整句译错、意思扭曲不给分。在试卷上，考生只需写出一种正确的答案即可。 千万记住：不要在试卷上写出两种译文让阅卷老师挑选。 历年来，考生英译汉试题的得分不甚理想，其原因主要有两方面：一是大学英语没有开设专门的翻译课，大部分学生对翻译的基本原则和基本要领缺乏认识。二是考生对翻译本身存在理解上的误区，认为只要理解了句子的意思就能自然而然地把句子翻译出来。考生在潜意识中总是认为，只要阅读理解没问题，翻译就会迎刃而解。从考生的答题情况和实际得分来看，这种认识显然是错误的。结果是，面对结构复杂、意思抽象的句子，面对多义词、复杂的修饰关系和抽象的整体句意，考生常常束手无策，无法准确理解，更不能用汉语将句子意思通顺地表达出来。 简单地说，如果不了解两种语言的特征，对翻译的原则、方法和技巧没有明确的认识或者不能灵活运用，就无法顺利地进行翻译。 三、 考研英语英译汉的方法与技巧 翻译是两种语言的转换。考生首先必须对英语和汉语两种语言的不同特征有所了解。词典所提供的词语的中文意思是翻译的基础，而词语在句子中的意思则要依照上下文的具体语境而定。在英语中，词和词组的意思要根据词语之间的前后搭配关系而定；句子的意思要根据句子之间的修饰关系与逻辑关系而定。 具体地说，动词词组要看其前后的主语和宾语；介词要看它所修饰的中心词的词义和习惯搭配；连词要根据整个句子的意思及句子之间的关系而定；状语要看动词部分的意思；各种从句的意思要看它们与主句的关系：因果、并列、递进等关系的翻译方法各不相同。 汉语则不同。汉语字词本身没有语法上格和数等方面的变化，不同的顺序组合可以使同样的词产生不同的意思。所以，英译汉的关键在于调整汉语语序。根据英语产生汉语意思，用汉语的语序和汉语的表达习惯完整准确地把意思表达出来。如果只知其大意，而不懂调整语序，那么翻译过来的句子会洋腔浓重、佶屈聱牙。这也正是通常说的翻译者自己知道原文的意思，就是说不出来或表达不清楚的情况。 简单而言，考研英译汉试题就是要求考生准确地理解英语，完整、通顺地进行语言转换。具体来说，就是在准确理解英语的基础上，采用直译、意译、增词、减词、词性转换等具体技巧将英文意思用汉语表达出来。 下面介绍英译汉的一些常用技巧。 ▲词的处理 1） 专用术语与习惯用语 考生在做翻译题时，在理解和表达方面，一般应以意思通顺为主要目标，将要翻译的句子的几层主要意思通过比较通顺的中文表达出来即可，而不要拘泥于句子当中的个别词汇，在上面耽搁太长时间，更不要见到生词就慌神，影响对整个句子的理解。遇到动词、形容词这种功能性词汇，可以根据周围语义关系对它的意思进行合理推测。 英译汉试题的文章很多与科技有关，科技术语出现得比较频繁。考生专业各不相同，因此要求做出十分地道的专业化的翻译是不现实的。对于专用名词，一个值得推荐的翻译方法就是尽量按照字典意思直译，不要过度联想和发挥。人名、地名的翻译按照音译即可，不需要过多讲究。 以下是历年考题中的专用名词和专业术语的实例及正确的译法。
